Excitingly Mars Collaborative’s new work, ‘Millions in the Sky’, as pictured above, was exhibited at ISEA24, the International Symposium on Electronic Art.  Selected as part of the Symposium’s Creative Program, it was exhibited in the ‘WebXR Online Exhibition’ co-curated by Dr. Alison Bennett and Dr. Rewa Wright of Queensland University of Technology. A walk-through of this Virtual Reality exhibition was presented at one of the Symposiums sessions at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. The virtual exhibition was accessible globally through the Symposium.

It was an interesting process to transport the work from 2D into a 3D space and be forced to consider how 3D elements, lighting, environment, movement and soundscapes could be used to enhance the work.

‘Millions in the Sky’ can be seen on the Styly website or by downloading the Styly app.

2nd Prize for Reconstruction Series after Balson 1947

MarS Collaborative are thrilled to have been awarded 2nd Prize at Royal Queensland Art Society (RQAS) Modernism Exhibition for our digital interactive work,  Reconstruction Series after Balson, 1947.  Judge Vanessa Van Ooyen, Senior Curator at QUT Art Museum wrote, ‘ Clever conceptual work that questions the uniqueness of the art object and ideas of authenticity inspired  by one of our great abstractionists working in this country, Ralph Balson. What will the artwork be in the future if a computer can artificially generate it? What is the nature of creativity in a world where computers are increasingly the tool of choice and arbiter of knowledge.’  7th -31st August 2018.
